Welcome to Kanoelani, the Heavenly Mist in Waipi’o Gentry. Huaka’i, the white sail sculpture rises to greet us all upon entering the school’s campus. This sculpture is a Polynesian crab claw sail which represents our students’ voyage through life, filled with the goals and expectations and memorable experiences while at Kanoelani.

The journey includes standards-based instruction with a focus on reading, writing, math and science. Teachers and staff have high expectations that all students will meet or exceed the state standards. We have included rigor, relevance and relationships in the development of lessons, always striving to prepare our students to be positive, contributing citizens of the new millennium.

Finally, parents and community support the school with many projects. Our Parent Teacher Association is an active group of parents and teachers/staff who plan various activities throughout the school year as well as provide supplies, materials and equipment for classrooms.
